Course Info

6 Sessions

2½ Hours

This six-session course offers a thorough introduction to the fundamentals of wheel throwing. Designed for beginners and intermediate learners, it guides you through the complete process of shaping clay on the pottery wheel, from centering your first piece to creating and glazing your final forms. You’ll receive ample one-on-one instruction and personalized guidance throughout the course.

Throughout the six structured sessions, you’ll learn essential techniques, including centering, pulling walls, shaping cylinders and bowls, trimming, and glazing.

The course focuses on creating mugs, bowls, and other small forms, while providing opportunities to experiment with design elements and surface techniques.

In addition to the scheduled classes, participants receive six extra hours of open studio time, divided into three separate two-hour sessions. These sessions provide additional opportunities to practise independently and strengthen the skills learned during class.

The $350 course fee covers clay, glazing materials, six instructional sessions, and six additional hours of open studio time.
